Etsy Shop Feature - Punkables

Hello all! Happy Monday! I've had a very busy day of sewing and now I am going to tell you about a great shop, Punkables

"I'm a 25 years old female currently living in California. I think the world could be a better place if we could all take pride in the things we made and owned. Verses selling out to the corporations that have no interest in selling you quality goods. I enjoy making things out of leather and metal, materials that have almost gone extinct in a world of plastic."

"I mostly create items inspired by steampunk. I became interested in steampunk from a builders point of view. I like this fantasy world were everything is made sturdy and to last a lifetime. I also uses all the materials I'm interested in working with. When I create something it is never just a prop or a show piece. It is always made out of just what it looks like. I never try to deceive people by making plastic look like metal or use fake leather."

"Right now I have a series of leather bracelets for sale. I'm working on goggles, pouches and belts I hope to start selling soon."

"I only learned about Etsy relatively recently. I just ran into it while surfing the web. Before that I never realized there was so much support for handmade items. That's when I knew what I was going to do. "

"I lurk the forums at brass goggles and sometimes post photos of what I'm working on.

Then I realized here in Hawaii, most families never leave this beautiful paradise like island. Therefore it's like a time capsule of great Vintage Finds! After I finished decorating my apartment, I thought I'd share my great finds with everyone on ETSY!"

A little about this seller:

1. from Canada, I am a 61 year old retired accountant from a company in the steel industry
2. as a contrast to my analytical side, I started a supply store for needlework supplies, had the brick and mortar business for 11 years before the store was closed as the rented premises were sold
3. took our website, http://www.gthreads.com and turned it into a shopping cart for supplies
4. joined ETSY to sell off my store samples which number close to 300 both finished and unfinished

What GThreads sells:

I sell finished store samples which make great gifts and some assembly required. These are all one of a kind, once its sold it is gone to its new home

GThreads Favourite items:

there are about 15 stitched items but these are my most favourite:

My Angel of Dreams
       - angel-of-dreams

Interview with Steufel

I hope everyone had a great Halloween yesterday!

Today I am going to share with you my interview with Steufel

Tell us a little bit about yourself

My name is Stefanie, I’m 41 years old and live in Cologne, Germany. In my non-etsy life I’m responsible for the marketing at a local newspaper. So something completly different.

What do you sell on Etsy?

I sell jewelry. My favorite material is copper, sari ribbon and my own lampwork beads. I would say my stuff is vibrant, whimsical and I hope - fun.

How did you come to join Etsy?

When I started making jewelry I soon had to realize that the choices in Germany are more than limited. I surfed the net and stumbled upon etsy. The minute I discovered it I was hooked. And also like the idea to support individuals so I try to get all my supplies there. It’s so much more rewarding to buy stuff from people who are committed to their work. And I think everyone on etsy is committed.

What inspires you?

Everyday life. I think you can find art and inspiration everywhere.

Where else can we find you?(blog, facebook, twitter, etc)
