Fanshawe College's Unbound 2010 Fashion Show

I recently graduated from the fashion design program at Fanshawe College in London Ontario.

Our final project was to put together a collection of 5 outfits(designing and sewing), and as a class put on our fashion show.

My part in putting together the fashion show was in the promotions committee. I helped with securing sponsorships, and brainstorming different ideas for promoting. But my main job was designing and creating the show program. It turned out great and I was very proud of it.

My collection was called "Aspiration"

"Aspiration" is a collection of dresses that would be worn to an 'After 5' event. With vibrant blues and greens and a neutral tan colour, this collection has a very Middle Eastern feel to it. Luxurious fabrics are used to create both structure and lightweight draping. This collection is for a woman that aspires to be the best she can be, and wants to look luxurious while doing it.

The show was a huge success, we had appearances from David Dixon, Leesa Butler of F-List, Gail McGinnes of TFI, Erin O'Brien of Flare Magazine, and Maggie Bill of ET Canada.

This show was truly a learning experience for all of us in the class, and it really brought us closer.

I'm also going to show a few pictures of some of my favourite outfits from the others in the class.

My apologies to those that I have missed from my class, I don't like adding too much because it gets a little overwhelming to read. If any of you would like a feature in this blog to yourself, feel free to contact me :)

I hope you all enjoyed this post! This was a great event and I'm really happy to share it!

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
